James' 2nd Haircut

James has been looking a little hippie-ish lately with his long hair.  We have been putting off getting it cut after the meltdown he had last time.  The barber wouldn't cut any more last time because he was having such a fit.  As you can tell from the pictures below he still didn't like getting it cut, but at least the barber could finish this time.

Archery day 1

Danielle surprised me with a blue Genesis bow.  It's backyard archery day!

At least she will have the skill to kill squirrels if we're starving.  If she will is another question.

Draw

Loose

Hey what is that.... Oh, a baby rat snake.  Lets put it in the woods.

Yo Ho Ho Merry Christmas

We spent the past few nights working in the driveway on a float for the Christmas Parade.  The parents from Logan's Cub Scout pack turned a trainer into pirate ship.  It was a Yo-Ho-Ho Merry Christmas.  We went with the pirate ship because it was the theme for the local council for the year.  It's a money saver to re-use decorations.

Making bread with grandpa

Grandpa took the opportunity to teach the kids how to make bread while he was here.  The kids had a great time.  Unfortunately, most of the pictures are a bit fuzzy.

Oh, look..... The pot we used to fry the turkey yesterday.  I bet I'll fit inside.

Yep, I fit.  Mom is really glad that the pot had been washed already.

Flushing Goldie

With much sorrow we must announce the death of Goldie, the goldfish.  Unfortunately our drain doesn't lead to the ocean, just the septic tank and some anaerobic digestion.  Goodbye Goldie.

Agrirama in Tifton

We went to Agrirama today in Tifton.  They have a homeschool day once a month.  The kids get to dress up in bonnets and aprons for the girls and suspenders for the boys.

The kids also got to run some corn through the corn sheller.

First Fish

We were at Wal-Mart today and thought we would pick up a fish for the kids.  If you buy a glass bowl in the fish tank area you're going to pay about twice what a glass bowl near the fabric costs.  So we got a glass bowl and beads from the floral section.

The fish isn't really that big, the glass magnified him.

Hive stands built

The boxes for the hive stands have been sitting in the driveway for a few months.  I figured it was time to finish them today since it was in the 60s and the gnats are GONE!!!!.
Clamp the leg in place.

Give Logan a impact wrench and away he goes.

Finished stand, now we just have to level them in the apiary and get some more bees.

Camp Osborn

We had our second camp out with the cub scouts this weekend.  We went to Camp Osborn  The theme for the weekend was pirates.  Pack 210 won for the best camp decorations.  Thanks to the great pirate ship that the leader's made.

Paige quickly made friends with the moms and grandmas that were there and I was happy to let them do her hair on Saturday morning.
French braid to keep the sticks and leaves out!
Logan got to shoot the bow and arrow.
There was even time for the siblings to shoot them!

Logan thought the BB guns were awesome and shot one in the black.

Rowing was a good time.  Although I think mom would have been a bit worried about her 6 year old alone in a boat with no adults.  There were quite a few lifeguards floating around the pond though.
Paige found a nice squishy matress to rest on while we were waiting for Logan in line at the rock wall.

Logan made it about 10ft up the wall before he jumped off.
